Dr Sudhir K. Routray works as a Professor and Dean (Academics, I/C) at CMR University. He is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). His duties include teaching, managing the academic affairs of CMRU, guiding master’s and PhD students, and conducting research at CMRU. In addition to this, he is also associated with research project funding for the university and took consultancy projects for some local industries.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

The areas of his interest are: Complex communication networks, 5G/6G networks, Internet of things (IoT), network science, information theory, communication networks, statistical analysis of communication networks, simulation and modeling of communication networks, optical communication & networking, and network statistics.

RESEARCH SKILLS

  • Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling of networks of different types including wireless, optical, trade and complex networks.
  • Proficient programming skills in Java, Matlab, Python, and R.
  • Proficient modeling skills using OPNET, Matlab, R and EasyFit.
  • Strong in solving problems in: network planning, optimization, statistical analysis, stochastic analysis, parameter estimation, and network modeling.
  • Modeling and design of optical fronthaul and backhaul for 5G mobile networks.
  • Planning and design of Internet of Things (IoT), mainly the current focus is on NBIoT.
