Architecture can be defined as the art and science of designing buildings and other physical structures. An amalgamation of creativity and technology, architecture requires both mathematical proficiency, technical skills and artistic ability.
Architecture is also influenced by various factors such as the environment, society, technology and art.
The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) programme, offered by CMR University – School of Architecture, Bangalore, is strong in the
fundamentals of architectural theory and practice, and responds to the changing definitions of architecture in the Indian and global contexts.
The emphasis on ‘Practice to Theory’ and ‘Theory to Practice’ makes the B.Arch. programme competitive and relevant. The
maker-centred pedagogy is an integrated process of directed, experiential, hands-on, reflective and independent learning.
Being a systemic interdisciplinary course, it focuses on creative problem solving and instils self-motivation to learn. This B.Arch. course will impart knowledge and skills required to design built environments required for human habitation.
CMR University’s B.Arch. degree helps enhance the creativity of the students and trains them to face the innovative profession of
architecture. This 5-year programme is a blend of theoretical and practical learning, where the students will be exposed to a wide
range of techniques and skills required to have a successful career in the field.
