Coy Strength – -108 SD & SW (Army Wing)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) aims at developing character, discipline, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the nation regardless of which career they choose.

The management of CMR University, having realized the growing need for molding students into responsible citizens of the country and future leaders of our nation, decided to start the National Cadet Corps Senior Division for undergraduate students. In August 2002, after the visit of Group B Commander Col. S.S. Naik and 9 KAR BN NCC Commanding Officer and his officials, the University got 55 vacancies to start the senior division Army NCC Unit in the CMR Institute of Management Studies (CMRIMS).

26 August 2002 was a historic day in the annals of the college since it was on this day the first Parade took place in the University  grounds.

The CMRIMS NCC Unit is attached to 9 KAR BN NCC Group ‘B’ HQ Cunningham Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Now, the NCC wing of CMR Institute of Management Studies (Autonomous) is merged with CMR University. NCC is also included as an elective subject from the Academic year 2021-22.
