Scholarships

Each year, the CMR Jnanadhara Trust awards a number of scholarships to exceptional and highly deserving students from across the University. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit/means/demonstrated leadership or sports abilities.

CMR Memorial Scholarships

The CMR Memorial Scholarships are awarded to students with financial need, as determined by the CMR Scholarship Committee. It is a merit cum means scholarship. This financial aid comes from a dedicated scholarship fund of the CMR Jnanadhara Trust. Any student who comes from an economically weak background, and/or from a rural area is eligible to apply. The applicant must furnish the relevant details as proof of his/her eligibility. A good academic record is a must.

Only applications that are complete, and include all relevant documents (as specified below) will be considered.

  • A community / income certificate from an official, not below the rank of a revenue inspector.

Any undergraduate or postgraduate student with an outstanding academic track record will be considered.

 

CMR Leadership Awards

CMR Leadership Awards will be awarded to exceptional students who demonstrate the following behaviors and leadership qualities.

  • Consistent contribution towards academics, sports, co-curricular and other institute related activities.
  • Good communication skills, displaying the mark of a leader.
  • A sense of maturity, social responsibility and ethical fibre in all his/her actions.
  • The student must have followed all policies of the institute, and shown respect towards teaching/non-teaching faculty, and staff.
  • The student should have set himself/herself as an example to others through his/her positive attitude, outstanding behaviour, and conduct.
  • The student must be both admired and respected by both his/her peers and colleagues.
 

CMR Sports Scholarships

The CMR Sports Scholarship aims to promote and encourage sports activities both within CMRU, as well as throughout the country. These scholarships are offered at the State Level, the National Level and International Level.

Students who have participated in sports competitions including track and field events, athletics, cricket, hockey, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and fencing etc at the State, National and International levels are eligible to apply. Students who have participated in yoga or chess at National and International competitions are also invited to apply.

For Academic Year 2021-22

  1. National Level Medalist / AIU- Medalist / Federation Cups Medalist / National federation of School Games Medalist / World Games Medalist If first three position.
    • 90%Programme Fee waiver
    • Free Food at University Hostel
  2. National Level participated / AIU- participated / Federation Cups participated / DYESS / SAI / National federation of School Games participated
    • 75% Fee waiver
  3. State Level – First three Positions. / South zone Frist four Positions
    • 50 % Fee waiver
  4. State /– Junior / Senior Level participated
    • 30 % Fee waiver

This sports scholarship is available for first 16 students only

Cricket:

  1. If student is member / played in National cricket team
    • 100% Tuition fees waiver
  2. If students Played / member in team for State, Vijay Hazere, Deodhar Trophy , Indian camp , IPL
    • 90% Tuition Fee waiver
    • Free Food at University Hostel
  3. If students played / member in U-16, U- 19, U- 23, KPL, C.K. Naidu trophy, State probable, 1st – 2nd Division.
    • 75% Tuition Fee waiver
  4. KCSA – If students Zonal / state Probable / 3rd Division
    • 50 % Tuition Fee waiver

This Cricket scholarship is available for first 14 students only.

Duration of Sports Scholarship:

  • Any sports scholarship awarded to a student shall be initially for one year and will be renewable every year provided the awardees are improving /maintaining the proficiency in the sport/game concerned. Exceptions to this policy will be made at the discretion of the sports committee only in case of injury, disease, or ill-health provided the student submits relevant documents.
  • A student shall submit a new application on prescribed form for the renewal of scholarship every year failing which it will be stopped even if one is eligible.
  • The form should then be forwarded through proper channel to The University’s Sports committee
  • Free local transport facility for students who are participating any sports and games

 

 

Outside Scholarships

Students may also apply for scholarships from outside sponsors to receive financial aid to assist with the academic tuition. The following are other organizations and sources that grant scholarships to students who meet their eligibility criteria.

  • ICCR Scholarships
  • SC/ ST and Backward Class Merit
  • Scholarship from the Government of Karnataka
  • Scholarships from various State Governments
 

I. CMR Students Scholarships
Students who are joining from CMR Institution to CMR Institution i.e. from CMR PU / +2 to UG programmes and CMR UG to PG programmes.
This scholarship is apart from the Founder’s Day Scholarship.
-Rs.5000/- for all courses (UG & PG) except SOET.
-For SOET courses Rs.20,000/-
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

II. Social Service
NCC – A and B certificate
10% Tuition fee waiver
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

III. Defense Scholarships and Bravery Award
Ward of Recipients of – Gallantry Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Veer Chakra and Shaurya Chakra- 25% tuition fee waiver
Killed in action – 25% Tuition fee waiver
Disabled in action – 25% Tuition fee waiver
President police medals – 20% Tuition fee waiver
Working / Retired (Army, navy, Air Force, CRPF, BSF and Police)
– 10% tuition fee waiver
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

IV. For Siblings
This fees concession is applicable for the students whose Brother or Sister is studying in the same School of CMR University or studying higher education in any of CMRGOI
SOET courses Rs.25,000/- tuition fee waiver
Other Schools / institution courses Rs.10,000/- tuition fee waiver
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

V. Single Parent
Child of single parent (Mother only) scored 70% marks at qualifying examination are eligible for
-Rs.25000/- tuition fee waiver
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

VI. 7 Sisters
Students from North East – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura are eligible for admission in to any of CMRGOI
Rs.20000/- tuition fee waiver Except CMRCBS
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

VII. Andaman & Nicobar
Students from Andaman and Nicobar islands are eligible to get
-Rs.25000/- tuition fee waiver
The above fee waivers for all categories of students are applicable ONLY to the first year, i.e. year of admission.

VII. Physically Challenged
Physically challenged students –
-70% handicapped- 70% tuition fee waiver
-Between 50-25% handicapped -40% tuition fee waiver
-Below 25% handicapped- 10% tuition fee waiver
The student should produce proper document of claim.
The committee headed by the Hon’ble Vice chancellor and Pro vice Chancellors and Registrar as members in the committee examine the evidence and declares the concession.

General Condition / Note: 1. Students are allowed to avail any one of the Merit scholarship, Sports scholarship, Fee Discounts, Fee Concession for CMRGOI for the academic year 2021- 2022

2. Fees payment in installments / Semester will be decided case by case like previous years. This will be decided by the Director CMRGOI, after receiving details from the respective campus counsellors as we have done in the previous years
