CMRU Internal Quality Assurance Cell (CMRU-IQAC)

The CMRU-IQAC is an internal mechanism for sustenance, assurance and enhancement of the quality culture of education imparted by CMRU. CMRU has established the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance activity. CMRU, enlisted and recognized under UGC Section 2(f).The CMRU-QAC serves as an internal mechanism dedicated to ensuring excellence in every facet of academic endeavors undertaken within our institution.

 

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

In pursuance of its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation, and quality improvement at CMR University, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the University academic system and work towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the University. The CMR University guidelines provided in the following pages will guide and facilitate the University in the creation and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for ensuring the timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks, The relevance and quality of academic and research programs, Equitable access to and affordability of academic programs for various sections of society, The optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning, The credibility of evaluation procedures, ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services, The sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

At CMRU, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is established with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. B. Raghavendra at its helm. As the chairman, Prof. Dr. H. B. Raghavendra leads the IQAC in its efforts to ensure and enhance the quality of education and academic processes within the university.

Goals of the CMRU – IQAC

  • To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytically programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the CMRU.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through the internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks and parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the CMRU.
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning processes.
  • Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Organization of inter and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  • Documentation of the various programs and activities of the University, that are leading to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the CMRU for coordinating quality-related activities, including the adoption and dissemination of good practices.
  • Development and maintenance of institutional databases through MIS for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing institutional quality;
  • Development of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the CMRU based on the quality parameters and assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body (like NAAC, NBA, AB) in the prescribed format;
  • Bi-annual development of Quality Radars (QRs) and Ranking of Integral Units of CMRU based on the AQAR;
  • Interaction with SQACs in the pre-and post-accreditation quality assessment, sustenance and enhancement endeavors.
 

Objectives

  • Develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the University.
  • To keep updated on various UGC and State Schemes and facilitate getting sanctions for maximum schemes for the academic and infrastructural development of the University.
