This programme introduces students to the world of serving those in need of mental health care services such as counselling.
Students get to experience first-hand the mental health settings where caregiving becomes the need of the hour. Students are also engaged in focussing on improving the quality of life of seekers from a mental healthcare perspective.
Mental wellness is a key aspect that is dealt upon by students and faculty in the programme.
A key focus of this Post Graduate Diploma is psycho-social rehabilitation and the underlying principles/practices.
With these skills, students are also taught how to implement a range of mental health services and thereby enable seekers to build on their strong areas. Goal Setting is yet another focus area of the programme, and this lets students develop lifeward objectives.
The programme is exciting for students enjoying interaction with various categories of people. Hence, communication is also a key feature of the programme. Emphasis on practical knowledge is laid sufficiently to groom students into effective counsellors and mental health service providers.

A pass in Bachelor’s degree examination in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PH students) with Psychology as one of the optional subjects.
