ABOUT

Dr. Ahalya S., Vice Chancellor of Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bangalore, is a renowned Ayurveda teacher and dedicated physician with over 32 years of experience. A Post Graduate from Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Bangalore, she earned her Ph.D. in Joint Disorders from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and has also been associated with SVYASA University due to her deep interest in Yoga. Her major areas of expertise lie in infertility and joint disorders.

She has served in several key positions, including Deputy Registrar at RGUHS Bangalore, Joint Director of the Department of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka, and Principal of Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Bangalore. She has guided more than 35 postgraduate students, published extensively in leading journals, and delivered invited talks on Ayurveda across the USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Israel, Australia, and many other countries.

Dr. Ahalya is a Governing Council member of prestigious institutions such as the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Sri Sri Ayurveda College, Bangalore, and MLA College, Bangalore. She has also been a member of the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, nominated by the Government of India, Chairperson of the Board of PG Studies (Ay) at RGUHS, and part of the Board of Studies at Kerala University of Health Sciences, NEHU Shillong, and Goa University. She has served on ethics committees, contributed to the UPSC, and is a member of the Vision Group for Health constituted by the Government of Karnataka (2021). She was also the Coordinator for the Dravya Kosha project entrusted by the Karnataka Knowledge Commission.

Her contributions have been widely recognized through numerous awards, including the New Generation Vocational Excellence Award from Rotary, Kempe Gowda Prashasti from BBMP, Woman of the Year, Holysala Award, Yugadi Puraskara (2014), and the Best Teacher Award from JSS Ayurvedic Medical College, Mysore (2021). She has also been honored as Professor Emeritus by NK Jabbashetty Ayurveda College, Bidar.

With a strong commitment to student welfare, Dr. Ahalya actively works to bring Ayurveda into mainstream primary healthcare and promote the Indian Knowledge System among students. She has also initiated several innovative programs for Sanskrit learning.

ABOUT
Dr. Jayashree S. is Professor in the Department of Sociology at Karnatak University, Dharwad, with over 35 years of teaching experience and 31 years of research experience. She secured First Rank in M.A. Sociology from Mangalore University and obtained her Ph.D. on Ageing and Retirement: A Sociological Study from Karnatak University, Dharwad.

Her major areas of interest include Women’s Studies, Gerontology (Sociology of Ageing), Sociological Theories, and Demography. She has presented papers at international conferences in Thailand, Canada, and several other countries, and has participated in more than 100 national and international seminars. A prolific academic, she has guided 13 Ph.D. scholars and 10 M.Phil. students, with six more Ph.D. candidates currently under her supervision.

She has served in various academic and administrative roles, including Lecturer, Reader, and Professor at Karnatak University and its PG Centre in Belgaum. She has been actively involved in curriculum design, served on numerous Boards of Studies and Examination panels across universities in India, and delivered over 130 invited lectures as a Resource Person. She has also evaluated more than 90 Ph.D. theses and organized several seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Dr. Jayashree is the recipient of several honors, including the Prof. Gururaj Bhat Memorial Award, Best Outgoing Student Award, and the “Sikshana Sampanne” Award from Bandarkar’s Arts & Science College (2013). Her academic and professional journey reflects her deep commitment to advancing sociological research and promoting women’s studies and gerontology in India.

ABOUT
Dr. T. J. Kamalanabhan is a Professor in the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, with a distinguished career in organizational psychology and human resource management. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology (University of Madras, 1987), as well as M.Phil. (1983) and M.A. (1982) degrees in Psychology from the same university.

His teaching interests include Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Talent Management, and Training & Development. His research spans industrial psychology, HRM, organizational behaviour, and related fields. 

Dr. Kamalanabhan has authored numerous articles in national and international journals and served on editorial boards of journals such as the Journal of Psychometry and Journal of Human Resource Development Review. He is also a member of professional bodies like the Indian Society for Technical Education and the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology. 

He joined IIT Madras as an Assistant Professor in 1992 and later served as Associate Professor until August 2000, eventually becoming full Professor in December 2003.  Over his career, he has also received prestigious fellowships, including an Erasmus Mundus teaching fellowship (Spain), a Fulbright fellowship (USA), and a DAAD fellowship (Germany).

Prof. N. Narasimhamurthy is an experienced communication and public relations professional, academic, and researcher with over three decades of expertise in strategic communication, media studies, and public affairs. He holds a Ph.D. in Development Communication (Bangalore University, 2007) and advanced degrees in Communication and Geography.

He has held several senior academic and administrative positions, including Vice-Chancellor (Officiating) of Bangalore City University (2020–21), Registrar (Administration) at Bangalore North University (2023), Dean, Faculty of Arts, Bangalore City University (2019–2023), and Professor & Head, Department of Communication, Bangalore City University (2019–2024). Earlier, he also served as Professor & Head of the Department of Electronic Media, Bangalore University (2011–2018).

Prof. Narasimhamurthy has made significant contributions to curriculum innovation, interdisciplinary programmes, industry-academia collaborations, and digital learning initiatives. He has published extensively in national and international journals on topics such as media effects, social media, political communication, gender and media, and community radio, and has presented papers at conferences across India and abroad.

He has also been actively involved in higher education governance, serving as Executive Council Member of Pondicherry University (nominated by the President of India), as well as a member of syndicates, boards of studies, and academic councils in multiple universities. In addition to his academic roles, he has worked on research, training, and policy dialogues in the areas of social inclusion, marginalized communities, and communication for development.

With strong expertise in both academia and practice, Prof. Narasimhamurthy is recognized for his leadership in advancing communication scholarship, student mentorship, and fostering partnerships with media, cultural institutions, and research organizations.

ABOUT
Prof. Dr. Pushpam M is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, University of Kerala, with over 21 years of teaching experience. She holds an M.A., B.Ed., and Ph.D., with her doctoral research focusing on the impact of development programmes on Paliyan tribal women in Idukki District. Her specializations include Tribal Studies and Gerontology, with research interests spanning marginalized communities, health, disaster management, environment, and development.

She has guided more than 95 M.A. dissertations, 10 M.Phil. dissertations, and 7 Ph.D. scholars (5 in Sociology and 2 in Social Work), with four more Ph.D. candidates currently under her supervision. She has also completed several funded research projects, including a major project on participatory tribal development and a socio-economic survey of street vendors in Thiruvananthapuram.

Prof. Pushpam has published extensively in UGC-CARE listed and peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to edited books, and presented over 50 research papers in regional, national, and international conferences. Her publications cover diverse themes such as tribal health, women domestic workers, traditional occupations, migration, and gerontology.

She has served in significant academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Sociology (2014–2017), Chairperson of the Boards of Studies in Sociology and Social Work, Senate Member, and Academic Council Member at the University of Kerala. She has also been part of various academic committees, including the Research Ethical Committee, Kerala Public Service Commission, and Kerala State Council for Child Welfare.

A life member of the Indian Sociological Society, All Kerala Sociological Society, and the Indian Association of Social Science and Health, Prof. Pushpam continues to contribute actively as a researcher, academic leader, and resource person in the field of Sociology.

Dr. B. N. Roopesh

ABOUT
Dr. B. N. Roopesh, M.Phil., Ph.D., is Additional Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at the National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. He serves as a Consultant with the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit and the Department of Psychosocial Support in Disaster Management at NIMHANS. He has also been a Guest Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak.

He completed his M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology and Ph.D. in Clinical and Neuropsychology at NIMHANS, followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, New York, USA.

Dr. Roopesh has authored more than 80 research papers and led around 15 funded research projects. He has guided or co-guided 14 Ph.D. scholars and 16 M.Phil. dissertations. His research and publications focus on child and adolescent mental health, neuropsychology, disaster management, and psychosocial interventions. 

He is also an Academic Council/Board Member of four universities (RGNIYD, Central University of Karnataka, Pondicherry University, and Periyar University) and serves as a Karnataka State Selection Committee Member, responsible for appointments to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) under the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka.

Beyond academia, Dr. Roopesh is a Life Member of the Triple Nine Society, an international high-IQ society, and has a wide range of personal achievements as an adventurer and sportsperson. He is a licensed skydiver with 240+ jumps, the first civilian BASE jumper from India, an advanced SCUBA diver, free diver, taekwondo black belt, mountaineer, paragliding pilot, horse rider, and state-level kayaker. He is also a seasoned long-distance motorbike rider and trekker, with multiple expeditions including the Everest Base Camp.

Swathi Vellal Raghunandan is the Founder Director of lshanya India Foundation, a not-for-profit organization working with Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Bangalore. Swathi, a dedicated special educator didn’t take long to realize her career path. She has been working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder from the beginning of her career. Her strong communication skills and ability to absorb knowledge has mode her proficient in her field. She believes thot technology gives a levelling field for PwDs in the areas of social, economic, and civic participation & uses different mediums of assistive technology to aid persons with disabilities. Apart from special education, Swathi works very closely with parents, counselling them on various aspects of the diagnosis, caregiving a child with disability, empowering them by bringing in the importance of self-compassion while caregiving. Swathi has done several pod casts on mental health. Swathi has previously worked at a hospital, where she conducted assessments, provided psycho-education & counselling to families. Later she intensely worked with adolescents and young adults at the Autism Society of India. As a port of Autism at Work initiative of SAP, she underwent training at SAP, Germany and worked as a job coach to transition individuals with autism to workplace. Having gained all these experiences, she started the organization in 2015 and registered as a trust 2018. As the founder, Swathi brings in empathy in her leadership and has set the tone for others in the team by being open about challenges, seeking for everyone’s opinion, feedback thereby bringing the team together and also nurturing a new generation of leaders. She along with her team ore also working in 16 districts in Karnataka with on aim to build capacity of various stakeholders to build the disability ecosystem.

Swathi Vellal holds a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion from University of Northampton, U.K. and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Christ University, Bangalore. She is a very keen researcher and has presented papers in various notional and international seminars and has published a paper on ‘Autism and echolalia’ in the Good Autism Practice journal of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities. She also has a chapter named ‘ Inclusion of Young People with Autism Spectrum Disorder at Workplace: Challenges & Strategies’ published in the book “Disability and Inclusion: from rationale to reality”.

Some of the awards & recognitions include the MTC Global Award 2018 for Social Service by MTC Global, a UN recognized organization, The Real Super Woman Award for Social Entrepreneurship 2021 by Forever Star Indio Awards, Sirinada Sarasija for Social Service 2022 by Sirinada Mohosongo, Bangalore, Felicitated by BEL as a Young Social Entrepreneur for Women’s Day 2022 and the 2024 Amarnath Rajanahally inclusion award. lshanya India Foundation was  awarded the ‘Rajya Prashasti’ 2024 from the Karnataka State Government under the category of organizations empowering persons with disabilities.

Prof. Dr. Latha Krishnan – Dean, School of Liberal Studies, CMR University, Bangalore. 

Prof (Dr) Latha Krishnan is a Post-Doctoral Fellow, an alumna from IIT Madras, Department of Management Studies. She is one among the two Post-Doctoral Fellows from IIT Madras in Management Studies. MBA Global from Deakin University, Australia with Distinction, September, 2021. Top 1% of the B- School with QS World Ranking 271. She was awarded Ph.D in Management and M.Phil from Alagappa University. She has obtained MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, M.Com from Osmania University, and followed it up with PGDMM, and PGDIRPM. 

Prof. Dr. Latha Krishnan is an accomplished academic leader with over 27 years of teaching experience, including 18 years in leadership positions at reputed universities such as Anna University, Bangalore University, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), and private universities including CMR University, MIT World Peace University (Pune), Ajeenkya DY Patil University, and IILM University ,Gurgaon. She also brings 19 years of research experience and 5 years of corporate experience to her professional journey.

Dr. Krishnan began her career as a Marketing Research Analyst at Hindustan Lever Limited, later transitioning into the role of Corporate Trainer. Her professional portfolio reflects a blend of academic excellence and industry expertise, with 18 years in academic leadership roles as Dean across four universities in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and North India, and as Director of three leading B-Schools. She has successfully doubled admissions and placement rates through innovative academic and operational strategies and has demonstrated strong capabilities in OKR-based leadership and institutional turnaround management.

Dr. Krishnan has 254 citations on ResearchGate, an H-index of 6, an i10-index of 5, and 119 citations on Google Scholar. Her Vidwan ID is 401443 with a Vidwan Score of 8.7. She has served as a Research Supervisor at Anna University, Bharathiar University, Doctoral Committee Member at Bharathidasan University, and has successfully guided nine Ph.D. scholars.

She has served as BoS member in Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning Puttaparthi, BoS and BoE member of Bangalore University and Anna University.

As a Dean – International Relations, Dr. Krishnan has organized Global Immersion Programs across the UK, US, Europe, and Australia, and led initiatives for Student Exchange, Faculty Exchange, Joint Research, and Dual Degree Programs at MIT World Peace University. 

Under her leadership, institutions achieved NAAC ‘A’ Grade Accreditation for three consecutive cycles and NBA Accreditation for two cycles. She has also collaborated with AACSB accreditation teams, gaining strong expertise in international accreditation processes.

Dr. Antony George William holds an N.C.C. (National Certified Counsellor, USA, 1994), an M.Sc. in Counselling from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, USA, 1994; GPA A+), a Ph.D. in Psychology–Philosophy (Gregorian University, Rome, 1983; thesis: Logotherapy; GPA 9.3/10), and an M.A. in Philosophy from Nagpur University (1975), where he received a gold medal. His academic career spans roles as Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology (Garden City University, HoD 2021–22; Professor 2019+), Professor at CMR University (2014–2020), Assistant Professor at Christ University (PG courses in psychological and clinical counseling, 2011–2016), and earlier lecturing posts at Bangalore University, Montfort College, Maharani College (Mysore) and institutions in Goa (1976–1992), totaling 23 years teaching counselling psychology, clinical psychology and general psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr G Saravana Kumar is currently Professor Emeritus in School of Liberal Studies, CMR University. He comes with 22 years of Hospitality Industry experience, working in various star hotels and resorts in India and abroad as General Manager. Dr Kumar has done his Doctorate in Hotel Management at SRM University and NET and MBA in Tourism. He has guided 2 research scholars for Phd. He basically graduated from prestigious IHM Chennai in 1983. He has done BA Economics from Madras University and MBA in Tourism and hospitality Management from Bharathiar University. He passed his NET in tourism in 2009. He is now into academics and for the past 15 years worked in various Universities teaching Tourism and hospitality subjects. He has also been teaching Management subjects at Jain University and School of Management in CMR University. He is on the review board for 2 International journals. He has reviewed several research articles for Athens journal of tourism, International Journal of Tourism policy and other tourism related journals. He has guided several students for their project and publication of articles in research journals and is a lifetime member of Indian Tourism Congress.
