MBA Executive | Master of Business Administration Executive

Program Overview

Offered by: School of Management

When visions need to be realized in a fast moving world, there needs to be an understanding of the dynamics of doing business, of a multicultural society and the algorithm of change. Your vision will add value to the always changing landscape of any business environment, there is no doubt about it. However everyone will need support when the implementation phase is about to start. Support in the sense of refreshing existing knowledge, reviving and building experiences and triggering (hidden) competences. Leadership, entrepreneurship and professionalism are the basics of resetting the mind towards a global outlook in which sustainability plays a crucial factor.

The ‘CMR Executive’ Programme provides an executive MBA in which professional and personal development of the participants is key. Why? In today’s world there are more questions than answers. In order to build confidence in the process of seeking answers and finding new ways of managing the unknown, support is required. The first step is to acknowledge the questions in your mind resulting in exploring, discovering, analyzing, experimenting and reflecting followed by ‘aha-moments’ on theoretical and empirical level. Let’s immerse ourselves into the minds of participants of the ‘CMR-Executive’ Programme.

Seeking answers

At times you may wonder what could be an inspiring next step to take in order to provide aboost to your career and your own personal development. You have gone through several educational Programmes already and perhaps an MBA as well. You enjoy your work life since 6 to 8 years, and found out that some questions are yet to be answered. After you graduated you also realized that the world ‘out-there’ is not as predictable as you thought it would be.Over the last couple of years you increased your awareness significantly about how to manage your professional (and personal) life, and indeed, the (global) world around you is not flat, dynamic, disruptive, challenging and inspiring, every single day. You still enjoy it however you became more and more curious about the answers related to your questions.

Managing your working environment is not only about applying theoretical frameworks, talking about popular management statements like ‘shifting paradigms’, or competing with other organizations in fast moving markets or even with your colleagues. Everybody tries to do their best and to become the best.

Next level

There is more, you feel it, however you can’t put your finger on it, not yet. Those feelings of uncertainty, dilemma’s, and the eagerness to know more about it and to understand it, fade away during the day as you are leading a team, on the way to achieve those ever changing goals while setting up passionately new projects on technological innovation and sustainability. All this with one purpose in mind: the ambition to create more value to the(international) society. To be honest there is hardly any time left to re-balance your life journey in order to think about those next steps into the unknown. What and how to investing your personal and professional life? With whom, when and any idea about the return on investment? The ‘why’ of an investment is known: you want to take your next career and working life into your own hands, on a global level without losing your heart. Fair enough. Ina global, ever-changing working environment, it’s an opportunity to be aware the cross-road you are at and then select the right learning journey enabling you to pave your next path.

Hidden competences

After talking with colleagues, friends and family you start exploring what could be the best way to go about it and to make the right decision. Is another job the solution? Is it a new working environment you’re looking for? Or you’d rather like to start your own company?Or is it moving abroad to see how people find their rights to exist in other cultures? Or is its stepping into a dynamic learning environment in which your hidden competences are triggered in various ways and on all levels? Are you ready to step out of your comfort-zone to explore those answers in front of you?

You want to refresh your current academic knowledge thoroughly. You want to increase your (field) research capabilities in order to monitor the implementation of innovations into society. You want to analyse real life business cases to understand and improve your own business case. You want to experiment with alternative leadership styles with experienced’veteran CEO’s’ and learn about their modelling behaviour. You want to understand your own psychological thought processes in order to support the development of people around you. You want to learn to learn in a sustainable manner to understand your uniqueness – your own added value to society. Last but not the least, you want to prove yourself that you’ve achieved your goals – finding all those answers – and therefore more than willing to write down your experiences (essays). You want to describe your key findings and analyses, your conclusions, your road maps to bridge gaps and scenarios to tackle your challenges in a business case. And…, you are very curious to find out the best way to align the existing theories with your recent observations, your findings and your personal experiences of the learning journey. You want to create a final thesis. Exactly.

The lab is dedicated to meeting the teaching, learning and research needs of the faculty, staff and students.

Assessment and Evaluation

The University follows Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), which provides choice for students to select from the prescribed set of courses and earn credits. Students are awarded grades based on their performance for each courses in a semester and Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA), which is a measure of academic performance of a student in a semester. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is used as a measure of overall cumulative performance of a student over all semesters. However, the CGPA is invariably calculated from second semester onwards to facilitate students to know their academic progress.

Every Programme has a prescribed Curriculum or the Scheme of Teaching and Evaluation. It prescribes all the courses/ laboratory/ other requirements for the degree and sets out the nominal sequence semester wise. Curriculum also includes SWAYAM and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), offered by premier institutions. A student desirous of additional exposure to a course, without the rigors of obtaining a good grade, ‘audits’ a course that helps him to have an edge over others in placements.

The evaluation system to assess the student is comprehensive and continuous during the entire period of Semester, by the faculty who is teaching the course. Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester End Examination (SEE) constitute the major evaluations prescribed for each course, with only those students maintaining a minimum standard in CIE are permitted to appear in SEE of the course. CIE and SEE to carry 50% weightage each, to enable the course to be evaluated for a total of 100 marks, irrespective of its credits.

Before the start of the Academic session of each semester, a faculty may choose for his course Internal Assessment Test and a minimum of two of the following assessment methods with suitable weightage for each: Assignments (Individual and/or Group), Seminars, Quizzes, Group Discussions, Case studies/Case lets, Practical orientation on Design Thinking, Creativity & Innovation, Participatory & Industry-integrated learning, Practical activities / problem solving exercises, Class presentations, Analysis of Industry/Technical/Business Reports, Reports on Guest Lectures / Webinars / Industrial Visits, Industrial / Social / Rural projects, Participation in Seminars/ Academic Events/Symposia, etc. or any other academic activity.

The Semester End Examination for all the courses for which students registered during the semester shall be conducted at the end of each semester. Some of the courses, where the student performance is evaluated through CIE, may not have SEE.

The makeup examination facility shall be available to those students who have appeared and failed in the SEE in one or more courses in a semester.
