This certificate course provides an introduction to Business Analytics for students who are venturing into the emerging area of analytics. This course will help them develop basic data literacy. Students will also improve their analytical skills, which will help in strategic decision making. The course is a combination of classroom teaching and technology aided learning platforms.
The course will be taught through Pedagogical practices such as
1) Pre-Course Reading Material
Pre-course reading materials which are in the form of text books, cases and articles will be made available to all the students in advance. Online assessments and pre-course projects are also incorporated in the course to ensure academic rigour.
2) Industry Speakers/Visits
An integral part of this certification course are interactions with eminent industry leaders and regular industrial visits. These sessions will be part of each module, and will be designed to enhance the understanding of concepts from a practitioner’s perspective, making it easier to apply the learnings effectively.
3) Simulations
Simulations help maximise classroom learning. They let students apply management theories learnt in class to a simulated business environment and evaluate the results of their decisions.
4) Action Learning
Action learning is an important pedagogical tool that is designed to give the students a chance to practice their management theories in real life scenarios.
