Programme Overview

The CMRU Bachelor of Science in Psychology is a 3-year degree program that can continue into a 4-year B.Sc. Honours in Psychology or B.Sc. Honours with a Research degree in Psychology. The program includes a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Public Health Policy and Business Administration. The program takes into consideration the present mental health scenario and the current trends in psychology. In continuing to the 4th year, emphasis is laid on individual research.

The Curriculum includes core courses, Discipline Specific Electives, Interdisciplinary Courses, Skill enhancement Courses, Ability Enhancement, and Value Added Courses. The program provides students with an experience of a vibrant intellectual community, and an opportunity for significant research, and independent study. It enables students to acquire the ability to think, analyse, implement, and advance effectively in academic, clinical, organizational, and research domains, thus making them responsible citizens for the nation.

Program Outcomes

After completion of the program, a student will be able to

  • Produce meaningful and relevant research studies addressing psychosocial issues in counselling, clinical, and industrial settings
  • Solve professional, ethical, and multicultural issues in diverse professional and organizational settings

Program Duration

  • 3 Years (6 semesters) for B.Sc. in Psychology
  • 4 Years (8 semesters) for B.Sc. (Hons) / B.Sc. (Hons with Research) in Psychology

Candidates should have passed PUC / 12th standard or equivalent from any stream.
