Ar. Anand Kurudi
Ar. Anand Kurudi has a bachelor’s degree in architecture. With about 17 years of work experience, he is currently a partner at Studio Motley, a multi-disciplinary, award winning design studio with project experience ranging from large scale master plans to architecture and interior design. Prior to this he worked with CPG India, a Singapore based multi-national, as Design Head. One of the key projects he worked on was the 50 acre educational campus for IIITD&M, which won an award at an international level competition. Other important projects include an 18 acre ‘Medi-city’ at Varanasi, a 25 acre IT SEZ at Bangalore and an 18 acre residential development in Chennai. After spending a year in U.S.A. studying for the Masters program in Architecture, he worked at ‘Hundred Hands’. Here, he led a team working primarily on a mixed use tower which contained a 130 room hotel cum high end apartments. He has had a long standing interest in the theories of architecture, specifically, how a theoretical approach can inform and enrich a practice. He is a visiting faculty at Jain School of Interior Design. He has also been a visiting juror at the school of Architecture at R.V.C.E. and Raffles Design Institute. He enjoys writing and his article, a Critical analysis on Architect Sanjay Mohe’s building at I.I.Sc. Was published in Indian Architect and Builder.
