With Management education today undergoing rapid transformation, there is a definitive need to embed industry relevance to academic curriculum and thereby keep the curricula updated so that students become industry ready upon completing their graduation/post-graduation programmes. In this regard, one definite enabler of industry readiness is Experiential Learning.

Now, CMR University which is known to be a driver of change and initiative has made Experiential Learning as a cornerstone of management education. Keeping Experiential Learning at the fore, the university has established six Centres of Excellence (CoE) in the areas of Marketing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, HR, Business Analytics, Logistics and Finance. Speciality of these centres of excellence is that students within each of the centres will be mentored by industry experts, along with  CMR University’s faculty mentors.

Establishment of these centres of excellence are also part of CMR University’s multidimensional focus of embedding industry relevance to academic curriculum across the domain of Commerce and Management education. These centres of excellence incorporate and integrate the best of commerce & management concepts, knowledge, and insights with real-world scenarios, case studies, and contemporary practices in the industry.

Industry experts who will be mentoring these centres of excellence, include the likes of Mr Chandramouli – CEO at Feedback Insights, Dr Praveen Soni – Noted Author and Innovation Evangelist, Mr Praveen Kamath – CHRO of Apisero Inc., and former General Manager of Wipro, and Dr Mathiarajan – Vice President at the Business Analytics Society of India, Operations Research Institute of India and Chief Research Scientist at Department of Management Studies, IISC Bangalore.

With Experiential Learning clearly known to result in future-readiness amongst students, these centres of excellence at CMR University are a step in the right direction towards moulding the next generation of thought leaders moving towards innovation and entrepreneurship and can contribute to the society – Indian and global.
