CMR University (CMRU) Bengaluru, which is one of the top private engineering colleges in Karnataka held its 6th Annual Convocation on 28 March 2022 at its CMRIT campus in Bengaluru. The event witnessed conferring degrees to 1400 students. Gold medalists and students with brillian academic records were also honored.
Shri Thaawrchand Gehlot – Honorable Governor of Karnataka and the Visitor at CMR University, a top engineering colleges in Bangalore presided over the event. Prof. Govindan Rangarajan – Director of Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, was the Chief Guest at the Convocation ceremony.
The ceremony was also graced by Shri K.C. Ramamurthy IPS (Retd.) – Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) & Chairman, CMR Group of Institutions who was the Guest of Honor and awarded the medals to the students, and Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Chancellor, CMR University awarded the degrees. Shri. K.R. Jayadeep, Pro Chancellor, Dr Tristha Ramamurthy, Provost, Dr Sanjay Jain Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Dr Praveen R, Registrar were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, 1400 students from across seven School of Learning at CMR University were conferred degrees; 26 students received doctoral degrees. Apart from this, 28 students having secured top ranks were also honored.
CMR University’s sixth Annual Convocation also witnessed conferring the Honoris Causa on Ar. Dinesh Verma, Past President – Designers Guild of India & Practicing Architects Association, Immediate Past Chairperson – Indian Institute of Interior Designers, Bengaluru, Principal Architect and Managing Director, ACE Group Architects.
Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Honorable Governor of Karnataka and the visitor at CMR University, in his speech stated, “India has always been a global knowledge powerhouse and now we are moving towards becoming the ‘Vishwaguru’. Indian universities are playing a significant role in achieving this larger vision. As the nation prepares itself to be Atma Nirbhar, the onus will be on the next generation to fulfill the vision.
