Staying true to its resolution of emphasizing Design Thinking and making it mainstream, CMR University Bengaluru observed the Design Thinking Day 2022 on 12 April 2022. The event was held at the Bagalur campus of the University. A key attraction from the event was the various Student Design Thinking-driven exhibits that were on display.

The event was graced by Ms. Sonia Manchanda – Founding Partner at Spread Design & Innovation, along with Dr Sabitha Ramamurthy – Chancellor, CMR University, and Shri K.R. Jayadeep – Pro Chancellor, CMR University, along with a host of Design Thinking practitioners believing in the philosophy of “Adapting Lateral Approaches To Problem Solving.”

The Bagalur campus of CMR University was all decked up for the Design Thinking Day; innovations by students were on full display at the event.

Leading Design Thinking practitioners also offered insights, through interactive panel discussions, to students on effectively deploying Design Thinking to solve most of the issues plaguing human societies worldwide.

The Chief Guest Ms. Sonia called on the students to employ Design Thinking and iteratively solve problems in today’s VUCA world. She also expressed satisfaction over CMR University’s inclusion of Design Thinking within the academic curriculum. Ms. Sonia opined that as the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) stresses on the importance of adapting iterative approaches, Design Thinking at CMR University is bound to empower young minds.

The event concluded with a grand showcase of Students’ projects/exhibits that presented solutions to various issues (developed through Design Thinking). Check out below certain eye-catchy images of the student projects on display at the CMRU Design Thinking Day 2022:
