Areas of teaching and research interests:

Dr. Muralishankar R. is an academician with over 18 years of experience in teaching and research. He completed M.Tech. from Mysore University specializing in Biomedical Instrumentation and Ph.D. in the Faculty of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is a Post-doctoral fellow in INRS-EMT (Telecommunications) University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada.

Dr. Muralishankar is a member of various professional bodies and has been a reviewer for several Journals, Symposia and Conferences. He has a number of international research publications and paper presentations to his credit. He has also authored few chapters in International Editions. He has been invited by various Institutes to deliver talks on Speech Processing and Speech Technology and other allied areas. He has been a part of few research projects funded by Visvesvaraya Technological University and DRDO and was awarded by Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST) for his research publication. Dr. Muralishankar has obtained US patent for his work on ‘Speech activity detection using order statistics’ and also has filed for the patent on ‘Determining presence of a user in an online environment’.
