B Arch, M Arch – Conservation (SPA)
Areas of teaching and research interests:
Ar. Suryagayathri has completed B.Arch. from Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam, Kerala and M.Arch. in Architectural Conservation from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal with Honours. She worked as a project officer at Indian Heritage City Network Foundation (IHCN-F) Bangalore for the Preparation of Nomination Dossierof‘Monuments and Forts of Deccan Sultanates’ for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
She was awarded Proficiency Gold Medal, for the best overall academic performance for Master’s in Architecture (Conservation). Also, she has received the Award for the Best Thesis for Masters from the School of Planning and Architecture for the year 2017. She was selected for working in collaborative research project (AHRC-ICHR – ‘Mapping the Historic layer of Ajmer and Pushkar’) during her Masters Internship with DRONAH, Gurgaon under the Guidance of Dr.Shikha Jain and Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University.
Ar. Suryagayathri has been involved in various research publication work and has published a paper in the International Conference held at NIT Calicut during the year 2017. She has actively participated in various National and Internationalseminars, workshops and conferences, and also has been a part of the organising committee for many International Conferences.
Her research interests are Traditional Knowledge system, Conserving Heritage, Traditional Timber Constructions, Temple Architecture and Traditional Architecture.
